No no no no. You are being prejudiced. I hope you’ve watched The Devil Wears Prada so you don’t have to worry about the spoilers. If you have already watched it, this passage here might give you a new perspective on things and you might want to watch it again. So, gird your loins.

Runway is an auto universe run by Miranda Priestly who is the editor-in-chief of the magazine and a legend. In the industry the only opinion that matters is hers. She decides who stays and who leaves the magazine. She also knows that what makes her irreplaceable is her “followers” including photographers, stylist, artists, writers etc. who promised wherever she goes they will follow. She is also a dragon lady who cannot keep a man because she actually is “a man” with so much power and authority. And she wears Prada.

Andrea Sacks, a new graduate, comes to this heaven without even knowing that it is heaven and gets a job a million girls would kill for: the personal assistant of Miranda Priestly. However, she doesn’t respect it, she doesn’t like it. She thinks it is only a job that pays the rent. She thinks she is too important for clothes and make up and other “fashion” things. She thinks she is above such things. She doesn’t wear fashionable clothes. She wears normal clothes but this is not because of her modesty. On the contrary, because of her Pride. She wears her pride every day coming to work for Miranda Priestly thinking that she is more important. And that attitude makes her the devil. So, the devil actually wears Pride.

As Nigel says, Miranda is only doing her job and you thought Andrea was the angel, didn’t you? At the end of the movie, when he didn’t get the position he was promised; Nigel says “when the time is right, she will pay me back.” Sure enough, this is what you do when God didn’t answer your prayers. And when you think about it, it was actually the right thing to do. No one can imagine Runway without Nigel. And that makes Miranda God of the Runway, not the devil.

So glad that we made this clear. That's all.
